Yukon EMR Modernization Project

The Government of Yukon, Yukon Medical Association and Yukon Hospital Corporation are working together on a territory-wide EMR modernization project to improve how health information is managed and shared across the system.

Modernizing the Yukon’s digital health systems is essential to improving access to care, quality of care and provider experience. The EMR Modernization Project supports health system transformation by addressing long-standing challenges with outdated EMR systems, reducing fragmentation, improving data flow and supporting collaborative team-based care.

Clinicians and staff have clearly expressed the need for a more connected, efficient and user-friendly EMR that supports team-based care, better integration with Yukon systems, seamless billing and improved patient engagement tools.

The long-term goal is to reduce fragmentation by enabling better flow of information across systems and reducing reliance on manual workarounds such as faxing and duplicate data entry. This work supports safer, more coordinated care for Yukoners and builds the foundation for a modern digital health environment that supports both providers and patients.
